The first panel discussion of the international scientific symposium on "Multidisciplinary aspects of human rights protection in light of global challenges"

On may 10, 2024 at the TSU Faculty of Law, the first meeting was held within the framework of the Scientific Sympsium - "Multidisciplinary aspects of human rights protection in light of global challenges" with the support of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia’s grant program - "Promoting the introduction of innovative services in the system of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia, strengthening the protection of human rights and legal security". Within the meeting, professors from Poland together with Georgian participants conducted presentations on constitutional and criminal law issues. Specifically:

 

A presentation on the topic "Polish and Lithuanian Constitutions. Past and Present (selected issues)" was conducted by Dr. Przemysław Kierończyk - a representative of the Pomeranian University in Słupsk.

 

A presentation on the topic "Accelerated proceedings in Polish criminal procedure; good intentions, total failure" was conducted by Dr. Tomasz Kanty - a representative of the Pomeranian University in Słupsk.

 

A presentation on the topic "Multidisciplinary aspects of human rights protection in criminal law" was conducted by the project participant, TSU Associate Professor Dr. Giorgi Dgebuadze.

 

The project participant, the chief specialist of the TSU Faculty of Law Rusudan Tsagareli conducted a presentation within the panel discussion on the topic "Separation of power between Investigators and Prosecutors in Georgia".

 

Following the presentations of the panel discussion participants, roundtable was held, which included other project participants, inter alia, TSU Assistant Professor Dr. Giorgi Amiranashvili, TSU Faculty of Laws’ Department of Internationalization and Academic Research chief specialist, Dr. Zurab Gogshelidze, and the doctoral students selected as a result of the competition.

 

To ensure active engagement with the participants of the symposium  and prepare for the upcoming individual panel discussions, a preparatory meeting was held following the presentations by the Polish professors. During this meeting, the organizational team discussed all necessary topics and technical details.
